The Minister of Health Receives a Delegation from Oman to Explore Bahrain's Genomic Experience.

Her Excellency Dr. Jaleela bint Al-Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, emphasized the strong cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman in various fields, particularly in the healthcare sector. She highlighted the importance of mutual visits and joint agreements in enhancing coordination and fostering broader collaboration for the benefit of both nations and their people. This came during the Minister’s meeting with Professor Dr. Khalid bin Humaid bin Mohammed Al-Rasadi, Director of the Medical Research Center at Sultan Qaboos University, and his accompanying delegation, who visited Bahrain to explore its experience in the field of genomics. The Minister welcomed the Omani delegation, emphasizing the significance of this visit in light of the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding in the healthcare sector between the health ministries of both countries. This agreement was signed during the state visit of His Majesty the King of Bahrain to the Sultanate of Oman. During the meeting, the Minister reaffirmed the shared commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation in various public health fields, particularly in genomics. The Omani delegation also conducted a field visit to the Public Health Directorate, including the National Genome Center laboratory, where they received a brief presentation on the center and observed its operational mechanisms. At the conclusion of the visit, the Omani delegation praised Bahrain’s pioneering experience in this field. They also expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the Ministry of Health’s efforts in facilitating the exchange of expertise and knowledge and strengthening cooperation frameworks in public health, aligning with the shared goals and aspirations of both nations.
