The Ministry of Health announces the availability of the service for submitting a request to participate in the National Genome Project through the eGovernment Portal

Genome New Summary

In line with its commitment to enhancing the quality of healthcare services, preventing genetic diseases, developing effective treatments, and improving diagnostic and treatment opportunities by providing a genetic database for Bahraini citizens, the Ministry of Health has announced the availability of a service for submitting a request to participate in the National Genome Project via the eGovernment Portal, Bahrain.bh. The Ministry clarified that the service for participation in the National Genome Project is available for all age groups and is provided under health and medical care services on the eGovernment Portal. After accessing the participation request page, participants or guardians (for those under 18 years of age) are required to fill out a consent form for participation in the National Genome Test, and then visit the nearest health center where a sample will be taken by medical staff and sent to the specialized team at the National Genome Center. Additionally, the ePortal allows participants to download their participation certificate for the National Genome Test through the request details. The services provided by the Ministry of Health allow Bahraini citizens to submit a request to participate in the National Genome Test, with the option to print their participation certificate. Other services have also been added, such as the option to cancel participation in the National Genome Test, view the participation certificate, inquire about the participation request, and access general information about the National Genome Project. The Ministry of Health encouraged everyone to participate in the National Genome Project, which aims to build a comprehensive genetic database that enhances the ability for early diagnosis and prevention of common and rare diseases. The results of the project contribute to developing treatment plans for early disease detection, which helps provide timely treatment and improve the quality of life for individuals and their families, while ensuring the sustainability of healthcare services in the Kingdom.
